A few bits and pieces in the UAE (Part 2) .....

Ajban farms is a favorite site of mine ,  located between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.  It is a desert scrub area  with large water lakes.  Unfortunately the water is constantly being pumped into tankers for nearby constructions sites.  Not sure how much longer there will be water there,  once gone I am sure there will be a significant reduction in birds to be found in the area.

Crested Lark (Galerida cristata)

Corn Bunting (Emberiza calandra)

Jack Snipe (Lymnocryptes minimus)

Water Pipit (Anthus spinoletta)

Kentish Plover (Charadrius alexandrinus)

Bluethroat (Luscinia svecica)

Temminck's Stint (Calidris temminckii)

Asian Desert Warbler (Sylvia nana)

Asian Desert Warbler (Sylvia nana)

Desert Wheatear (Oenanthe deserti)

Little Owl (Athene noctua)

Red-tailed Wheatear (Oenanthe chrysopygia)

Pallid Swift (Apus pallidus)

Little Owl (Athene noctua)

Little Owl (Athene noctua)

A few bits and pieces from the UAE Part (1) ..........

Not had much to report recently,  travels have been limited and I have also been suffering with some niggly back problems.  So here is a small blog showing some of the images I have taken over the last few weeks in the UAE.

Dubai Internet City not only being mine and many other people's work place in Dubai it also contains a lake with landscaped areas around the lake.  And for the second time in less than a year a pair of Egyptian Geese (Alopochen aegyptiaca) have bred 5 little goslings.  I did not capture images of the last family so thought I would get out and record them throughout the coming weeks.  Here are my first images :
